It could be a landscape out of a picture book: The backdrop of the Melchsee-Frutt high plateau with its mountain ranges reflecting in the light of Lake Blausee. This is exactly how the winter paradise at 1,920 m above sea level presents itself and conjures up a scenery of incomparable atmosphere.
Since 1903, the village has been alive with winter sports, founded by the Engelberg painter and photographer Willy Amrhein and his friend Otto Durrer when they first crossed the Kerns High Alps on skis. The many picturesque corners as well as the wide range of snow sports on offer make Melchsee-Frutt unique today.
Whether it's a snow flurry or a hike, action or cosiness, there's something for everyone up here on almost 2,000 metres. Recharge your batteries on the high plateau and enjoy it to the fullest! It is extremely important to our team to always do their best to make your stay unique. That is why we are thankful for any feedback. This helps us to know what you particularly like - and where we can improve.
